Do you read books that are not intended for your age group? (Asks Booking Through Thursday's blog hop this week.)
Absolutely. All the time. Why wouldn't I??
If you look at my "Reading Now" shelf, you'll almost always see an audiobook that's YA or middle reader or children's literature as well as an adult non-fiction and an adult fiction. Poetry anthologies, graphic novels, how-to books, professional enrichment books, and just about anything well wrought, I will read.
How about you? Do you have a great outside-the-box book to recommend?

L

I wish I could say absolutely all the time but I can’t. I mean, I do read out of my age range but it’s trickier than that for me I guess. My post is here: http://femalebookreader.blogspot.com/2011/05/booking-through-thursday-your-reading.html

You know, I was just thinking that I read too many Middle Grade and Young Adult novels. A good reading challenge for me would be novels in which the majority of characters are closer to my own age. (Actual age, not "emotional age"! LOL!)
I think a well-rounded reader would sample books from different genres and books that were written for different age groups. Good writing is good writing, no matter where it is found or whom it was intended for.
I so agree, E! I say, let's celebrate the child and the teen in us: Why not?
And, L: I'm looking forward to hopping over to find out what you think about this question - My post here was uncharacteristically brief, but I just felt that adamant!
Hi Laurie! I'm kind of a newbie as well, since this is the first time I've participated in literally years. My reading is kind of all over the place. Hope you'll check out my post:
