Every day
I see or I hear
something
that more or less
something
that more or less
kills me
with delight,
that leaves me
like a needle
with delight,
that leaves me
like a needle
in the haystack
of light.
It is what I was born for—
to look, to listen,
of light.
It is what I was born for—
to look, to listen,
to lose myself
inside this soft world—
to instruct myself
over and over
inside this soft world—
to instruct myself
over and over
in joy,
and acclamation.
Nor am I talking
about the exceptional,
and acclamation.
Nor am I talking
about the exceptional,
the fearful, the dreadful,
the very extravagant—
but of the ordinary,
the common, the very drab,
the very extravagant—
but of the ordinary,
the common, the very drab,
the daily presentations,
Oh, good scholar,
I say to myself,
how can you help
Oh, good scholar,
I say to myself,
how can you help
but grow wise
with such teachings
as these—
the untrimmable light
with such teachings
as these—
the untrimmable light
of the world,
the ocean’s shine,
the prayers that are made
out of grass?
the ocean’s shine,
the prayers that are made
out of grass?

My gratitude to "Inward Outward" for offering poems almost as often as I do.
This one beckons me into the light.

I have a couple of questions about "Poem in Your Post". First, are original poems welcome, as well, or just pieces by other authors? Secondly, how often does it take place? Is it weekly? Thanks!
I post poems every weekend, and you are welcome to do the same, then hop by to let us know that you posted one too. You're welcome to post your own poems or poems you admire. Do know that I try to make sure poems are accessible and appropriate for a general audience, including mature young adults.
Thanks! I'll be sure to stick to those parameters. Now, is there a sign-up in the latest post somewhere that I'm missing?
I haven't added a linky lately, so for now you should simply leave your post in the comments. If more bloggers want to join in, then I would be happy to add the linky again.
